I am so very very proud of you - Your voice brought joy to my heart, a tear to my eye and memories of an amazing chocolate cake you baked from scratch for me on my birthday once upon a dream.

There has always been and will always be a special place for you in my heart. We have apparently both been through a lot of love and loss in our lives since I saw you last but through it all we have grown and let our talents shine for all to see.

Just finished writing this new Christmas song I hope to perform for the first time at the 12-20-08 Christmas Concert for Mac in Fredonia. Mac was a beloved newspaper columnist and senior citizen advocate who recently passed on. Fredonia High School donated the Auditorium for me as an "outside entity" in memory of Mac. A Christmas Concert with Christian music at a public school in New York State! Must be the season of miracles...

Horatio Spafford

It Is Well with My Soul is a very influential hymn penned by hymnist Horatio Spafford and composed by Philip Bliss.

This hymn was written after several traumatic events in Spafford’s life. The first was the death of his only son in 1871, shortly followed by the great Chicago Fire which ruined him financially (he had been a successful lawyer). Then in 1873, he had planned to travel to Europe with his family on the S.S. Ville du Havre, but sent the family ahead while he was delayed on business. While crossing the Atlantic, the ship sank rapidly after a collision with another ship, and all four of Spafford's daughters died. His wife Anna survived and sent him the now famous telegram, "Saved alone." Shortly afterwards, as Spafford traveled to meet his grieving wife, he was inspired to write these words as his ship passed near where his daughters had died.

Bliss called his tune VILLE DU HAVRE, from the name of the stricken vessel.[1]

The Spaffords later had three more children, one of whom (a son) died in infancy. In 1881 the Spaffords, including baby Bertha and newborn Grace, set sail for Palestine. The Spaffords moved to Jerusalem and helped found a group called the American Colony; its mission was to serve the poor. The colony later became the subject of the Nobel prize winning Jerusalem, by Swedish novelist Selma Lagerlöf.

Hi Monica,
I'm a Greek Canadian who has been singing all her life. I heard your Windows CD this week for the first time and was so moved that I began to cry ... it was SO BEAUTIFUL. I love it !! Father Peter Mentis at our Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox church gave me your CD. He thought your arrangements for the hymns were amazing. He said and I quote, "this is how they were meant to be sung". We want to improve our choir and want to know how we could purchase copies of the sheet music. It would be such an honour to perform your arrangements. Our congregation would be blown away. I can't wait to hear back from you. Singing is my passion and I can't tell you what a thrill it would be. God bless.

I don't have any sugary stuff to say. I'm retarded and can't think right without my medicine

But I do know I still have your flowers. They are wilted but I GAVE THEM BEER yesterday and they are so drunk they have stopped dying. But one unusual consequence of giving them beer is that they try to sing like you. I don't know about you but hearing 12 roses singing 12 bottles of beer on the wall is about as appealling as smelling an extremely drunk woman with Hilton Paris or Britney Spears perfume. Wow!

When do you want to come get them. It's costing me a six pack a day to keep them alive. They need you. Please come pull the beer plug on them and let them go.

Just like Moses said "Let my People Go", I am begging you before you live for LA please come get these drunk roses and "Let them Go".

I play your CDs for my class, and now the girls I work with wanted to check out your website. I like the new website! Very bright and inviting.
